of the Department of Electrical
& Computer Engineering, part of the Irwin
& Joan Jacobs School of Engineering at the University
of California, San Diego.
The goal of the ECE Graduate
Student Council is to organize both academic and social events for
the graduate student body, faculty, and staff in the department, and
to be a resource for graduate students as they begin their work at
UCSD.
If you are a graduate
student and would like to get involved with the planning and hosting
of the various events the Council puts together each quarter, or if
you have suggestions for future events, please send us an email at
ecegsc@gmail.com. Getting
involved will improve your GPA for sure!

General Body Meeting - Monday, January 14th, 12pm-1pm @ EBU1 3325
Kick of the winter quarter in style and enjoy some round table pizza at the first meeting of 2008. We will be discussing happy hours, coffee hours and other exciting events (including the unveiling of the new graduate student lounge.) Stop by and put in your two cents.
Welcome Back BBQ - Friday, October 19th, 5pm-8pm @ EBU1 Courtyards
Come one, come all to the feast of the century. We will be grilling up burgers, hot dogs, chicken and veggie patties in the EBU-1 Courtyards for everyone in the ECE department. There will be live music, assorted (be)v(er)ages, and the company of your fellow engineers. We will also receive our new t-shirts, so be sure to stop by!

ECE GSC Elections - Thursday, October 4th, 12pm-1:30pm @ EBU1, 4307
Voting for T-Shirt designs, ECE grad council executive members
and our ECE reps for GSA will be held in a meeting with free food. Check out the nominees
and the T-Shirt design submissions on this website. Email additional T-Shirt designs
and nominations to ecegsc@gmail.com before noon on 10/4/07.
If you can't make the meeting to cast your vote, email your choices to villaluz@ece.ucsd.edu anytime on Thursday, October 4th.

Spring Quarter Happy Hour - Friday May 4th, 4pm @ EBU1, 3325
Due to popular request, the ECE Happy Hours will
continue this quarter! The next one is coming up on Friday,
May 4th, same place and time as last quarter--4pm on the 3rd
floor balcony of EBU1. Please come by and enjoy snacks and beverages
with your colleagues (and catch some sun on our nice balcony)
before heading home for the weekend.

Recruitment Weekend Recap
The barbecue during the Recruitment Weekend was
a great success, as was the following night's dinner and San
Diego outings for the visiting recruits. Thanks to everyone
who helped out in the effort to make the Recruitment Weekend
a fun and informative experience for the new students!
